Product Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to maltoporin also known as lambda receptor protein whose expression can be detected in the stem cells and kidney but is highly expressive in testis. It is found in the cell outer membrane. This protein is extensively involved in the transport of maltose and maltodextrins indispensable for translocation of dextrins containing more than three glucosyl moieties. A hydrophobic path ("greasy slide") of aromatic residues serves to guide and select the sugars for transport through the channel. It also acts as a receptor for several bacteriophages including lambda.
